What do I See in the Future?

I see many things in the future and I am looking forward to it everyday. I believe my ideas with high school and just college in general are great. My senior year in high school is planning to be dual enrollment which will give me a little head start. After that my goal is to get into Lawrence Tech. This is a beautiful school with great studies. My future career is to be that Mechanical Engineer. I love things that involve hands-on, working machines, just in general all those kind of things. Many friends went into this already and love it. I want to be just like them. My main goal is to get a bachelors and start doing the thing that I am planning for my future. I would love to work in a corporation and get the experience. Time by time, I will be high up there just like others. Studying is also important. Even if I get my bachelors, it is important to continue for that masters. The Masters will even allow you to be so high up there and that is my goal. My future is interesting, now the only thing to do is work hard and make it happen!

Starting in the Career

When I will receive a bachelors degree from a school in Mechanical Engineering, there are many choices I can pick. This bachelor can allow me to start working for a corporation and actually getting the hands-on work. I have this family friend that received his bachelor's and is already helping producing brakes for automotive industry. My Goal is to volunteer, but not only that, but actually get accepted to jobs in the summer that involve Mechanical Engineering. My goal even if I do get a part time job in a corporation is to keep studying and receive that masters in this study. The higher the degree the better and the more skilled you are in that particular thing. Today most graduates with a degree get into a job very quickly. If you get a job and get more and more experience then that is even better if you want to later work for a larger corporation.

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering is what I have the most interest in. I always loved to see how things work and do hands-on work which in this career both will be seen and done. The type of work done in Mechanical Engineering involves designing and manufacturing. Graduates with a degree from Mechanical Engineering can go work in aerospace, manufacturing, transportation, and more. Most of this kind of work is done in a corporation with other people. This career is very interesting especially from seeing how new things are created every day and mostly in the automotive industry. This career could be even in Detroit, in one of the large automotive industries. It all depends how much you study and the interest which I have large amounts in. I love looking at how things work and even parts for automotive.

Outline of Classes for Mechanical Engineering

The Outline of Classes For Mechanical Engineering
The Elective Classes For Mechanical Engineering

These are the first couple classes I would do throughout my year trying to get my bachelor for mechanical engineering. There probably would be more, but this is the general layout in the beginning.

Bachelor's Education

The most important is receiving a degree, such as a bachelors.  The bachelor's degree that I would obtain for example at Lawrence Tech would be the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. This Bachelor offers employment in various fields. The amount of credits needed to get a bachelor at Lawrence Technological University would is a 132-credit- hour program which consists various studies. There are certain amount of hours and classes you need in order to graduate.
The classes that a student should take are:

  •  19 hours of Humanities
  •  40 hours of Computer Science, Math, etc
  •  61 hours of actual mechanical engineering core
  •  12 hours of electives towards mechanical engineering.

Total= 132 Credit Hours

With these classes you have many opportunities to do many different things especially involving hands-on which is my favorite.
Lawrence Technological University accepts AP Credits as well. I am in Spanish 5 AP at my high school and they will take 6 credits for Spanish 1 & 2 if you receive a 4 or higher on the final exam. I am also taking AP Psych which can give me 3 credits with a 4 or higher on the AP exam. I am very glad that I took AP classes and that Lawrence Tech accepts them. They are transferred with your ACT scores when you are applying  to the school.

Why Lawrence Technological University??

I always had a large interest to go to Lawrence Technological University. I have a very close cousin that goes to this school and we always talk about it, which are all great things and wanting me to go to that school even more. This school is great due to being private and having small classes. I love situations when there are not many people in classes which allows to have more hands on if that is involved and just asking questions to the professor. Lawrence Tech is also a great engineering school. My goal is to get into this school. Its probably my favorite. Also, this school is not too far away from my home so even if I can't have the chance to live on campus, I will be always having the chance to drive up. It is the most expensive out of all, but having the chance to go here would be amazing. Always thinking positive about being a student there and learning about mechanical engineering or architecture. It has a beautiful campus too. This school as a whole is great!

How much more in Highschool? What else is required?

My High School
I, Jacob Bucior, am a Junior at the moment at a wonderful school. I enjoy going to the school due to the great education I receive. The last year of high school will look interesting. My goal is to do dual enrollment so at South High School, I would take a couple of classes. The first couple classes for my senior year are planning to be Advanced Math, Honors Physics, and two semesters of English. The math and science are very important due to it having to do with the careers I am interested. Other than all those classes, I have all my credits to graduate from High School. My goal is to do dual enrollment and take classes at Macomb Community College in the beginning. I would take classes involving engineering, different computer classes, and others that will relate to my career. The goal is to have this last year of high school happen how I have it planned in my mind!
